(Austin, TX, March 10, 2026) – Texas New Mexico Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (TNMHPO) is proud to announce that Bruce Davis of Twilight Hospice has been selected as a recipient of the Charley Wasson Hospice Advocate Award, a distinguished recognition honoring hospice professionals and volunteers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the mission and core values of hospice care.

The Charley Wasson Hospice Advocate Award recognizes individuals who have served in hospice for at least three years and have demonstrated a deep commitment to hospice values, a unique and meaningful approach to extending hospice services, and continued professional and personal development in service to patients, families, and the broader hospice community. Each year, no more than four recipients are selected from nominees across the field.

For the past five years, Davis has been a foundational force in the growth, culture, and patient-centered mission of Twilight Hospice. As one of the organization’s earliest team members, he has served in multiple roles—including Administrator, Biller, Volunteer Coordinator, and Marketer—while consistently remaining focused on what matters most: advocating for patients and their families.

Davis is widely known for his willingness to step into any role needed to ensure patients receive compassionate, uninterrupted care. His colleagues describe him as someone who lives the hospice values of compassion, dignity, and service every day. From driving staff to patient visits during ice storms to personally delivering supplies to ease caregiver burdens, Davis consistently goes above and beyond his responsibilities.

His approach to hospice care is rooted in authentic human connection. Davis is well known throughout skilled nursing facilities across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, where his warmth and genuine kindness have made him a familiar and trusted presence among patients, residents, and facility staff alike. Whether through meaningful conversations about sports and faith, offering prayer, providing education to families, or simply being a steady and reassuring presence, Davis brings comfort and peace during life’s most difficult moments.

Families frequently share that Davis helped them navigate end-of-life care with confidence and compassion. In one extraordinary example of dedication, he coordinated international transportation arrangements to help a family honor their loved one’s final wish for funeral services abroad—demonstrating the lengths he will go to ensure patients’ wishes are respected.

Beyond his direct service to patients, Davis has also demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing hospice advocacy and education. In 2025, he traveled to the Texas State Capitol in Austin to participate in advocacy efforts, meeting with legislative staff to share real-world stories about the impact of hospice care. He has also actively participated in hospice conferences and educational opportunities to bring best practices back to his team and improve care for patients and families.

Through his leadership, adaptability, and dedication to lifelong learning, Davis has become a respected mentor within Twilight Hospice and a champion for the hospice mission.
