Tracy Brown Receives the Charley Wasson Hospice Advocacy Award
March 8, 2023
Tracy Brown
Hospice Advocate Award Winner – Tracy Brown

Tracy Brown received this very special award and honored on Feb. 26, 2023 at our annual awards ceremony in front of 400+ hospice professionals.

Polly Maines, Executive Director of HeartsWay Hospice, nominated Tracy Brown and wrote the following about her:
“Tracy is such an asset to our agency and advocate for the patients we serve. She is the director of social services. In addition to her full case load of patients, she coordinates a grief camp for children that we provide to area kids that have been impacted by grief. It’s the only camp of its kind in our area and is very successful. Tracy also coordinates and plans our annual Seldman Graham Lectureship. This is a free educational event that we offer each year to educate our community about end-of-life care. Some of our past speakers include Ira Byock, David Kessler, and Marsha Levetown. She is also responsible for coordinating an annual ethics seminar offering CEU’s to social workers in our service area free of charge. In addition to all of these events, Tracy is an active part of the IDG and ethics committee. She not only takes care of her patient’s psychosocial needs, but she also makes herself available to our staff to help them process their own feelings in an effort to reduce burnout and turnover. Tracy has been with our agency over 25 years and we are so thankful to have her on staff and feel that she is most deserving of this award.”

Tracy, warmest congratulations on your achievement! Wishing you even more success in the future. –TNMHO Board of Directors and Team
