The Texas Hospice Organization, established in 1982, fully merged with the New Mexico Hospice Organization in 1998.  T&NMHO seeks to support its members by offering educational activities, fostering communication and ensuring quality of care through standards and guidelines.

THE 2023 ANNUAL CONFERENCE – Feb. 25-27, 2023
We are excited to announce that we will be holding our Annual Convention at the Omni Las Colinas and we would like to invite you to join us in our celebration of our 41st Conference. We are expecting over 350 professionals in attendance again this year.

Poster Topics

Any poster presentation that is of interest to hospice professionals is appropriate for committee review. Poster sessions are an informal format for presenting research or highlighting innovative practices. In the innovative practice category, you are encouraged to highlight any innovative hospice practice, volunteer programs, QAPI studies, back office innovations, after hours staffing, etc.  You can share preliminary results or final outcomes for the practice.

Proposal Submission Requirements

Those interested in presenting must submit a (a) 8-10 word title, (b) a 25-50 word abstract of their presentation, (c) a one to two page summary of the presentation, and (d) 2-5 keywords describing your poster.  You will also include the category of poster, primary presenter’s name, address, phone number, e-mail, place of employment, and name of additional presenters, all suitable for printing in the conference program.

DEADLINE
Proposals will be accepted by on-line submission until 
5 p.m., Oct. 1, 2022.  Proposals received after that date and time may not be considered.

SCREENING AND NOTIFICATION
A panel of hospice professionals representative of an interdisciplinary team will screen the proposals.  Presenters selected will be notified of acceptance by Email no later than December 30, 2022.

REGISTRATION FEES
A $50.00 reduction of conference registration fees will be granted to the two poster presenters in each session.  All communications regarding the proposed session will be directed to the presenter.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN PROPOSALS
To submit a proposal, complete this on-line form and email the following items to Brandie Baker @ bbaker@txnmhospice.org. To be considered, proposals must include all of the following items sent within 72 hours after the initial application:

  • One page description of your poster presentation (can be longer but not more than 2 pages)
  • Fill out the yellow highlighted area and digitally sign this form:  Conflict Disclosure Declaration
  • A Short Speaker BioSketch with photo/headshot- Example
